Another Person Dies Of Ebola In Port Harcourt.

The Health Minister has confirmed the death of an elderly woman who was infected by late doctor, Iyke Enemuo.

Ebola has claimed another life in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, the Health Minister, Onyebuchi Chukwu has said.
The Minister’s spokesperson, Dan Nwomeh also confirmed this via Twitter yesterday saying:
“The 7 and latest Ebola death in Nigeria is the female patient on admission in the same hospital where the late PH doctor was admitted”
Vanguard reports that the deceased is an elderly woman who shared a hospital room with late doctor, Iyke Enemuo.
Prof. Chukwu said:
“Total number of deaths from Ebola Virus Disease in Nigeria is now seven. One is the index (first) case, which occurred in a private hospital in Lagos; four in the Lagos isolation ward, one in the Port Harcourt isolation ward, the female patient who was on admission in the same hospital where the late Port Harcourt doctor was also admitted, while another one was the doctor who was infected by the ECOWAS Commission official in Port Harcourt and who did not come under the care and management of the Incident Management Committee.”
Enemuo was infected by ECOWAS diplomat, Koye Olu-Ibukun who came in contact with index case, Patrick Sawyer but fled quarantine and travelled to Port Harcourt where the late doctor treated him in a hotel.
