Oprah amazes in trailer for new Martin Luther King Jr., biopic, 'Selma'

The first trailer for Selma, a new film about Martin Luther King Jr., and the civil rights movement has dropped, and we’re still trying to catch our breaths after watching it.
The film specifically follows King during the marches between Selma and Montgomery, and you can feel the emotion and tension in every beat of this trailer. The film opens in limited release Christmas Day, so it just makes the cut for this year’s Oscars, and we think the Academy will definitely be paying attention. David Oyelowo’s performance as King is the clear standout in the trailer, but make sure you don’t miss Oprah as civil rights activist Annie Lee Cooper. She’s just barely in the trailer, but the few moments that we see her are powerful. We can’t wait to see more. Watch the full trailer below.

GDP Rises to 6.54% in Second Quarter Nigeria’s real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased to 6.54 per cent in the second quarter of the year (Q2 2014) compared to 6.21 per cent in the first quarter, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). The NBS, in its quarterly GDP estimates released yesterday, said real GDP in monetary terms stood at about N16.08 trillion in Q2 2014 compared to about N15.43 trillion trillion in the previous quarter.
